Southern Solid Waste, LLC has compiled the following information from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to assist you with your waste disposal needs. The sites into which we refer to as C & D sites, which are Type III Landfill Permits and can only, accept construction debris.
SSW has compiled a list of common items that Type III (C & D) Landfills can and cannot accept. This is only a partial list. If you have any questions to what is not on this list, please give us a call at (337)433-5158 for more information.
No free liquids of any kind are allowed in the container. Liability for appropriate waste remains with the customer as agreed to in the terms and conditions of your contract.
Items that are NOT permitted in our roll-off containers are:
- hazardous waste
- industrial waste
- chemical products
- herbicides & pesticides
- radioactive material
- paint (except completely dried latex paint cans, no liquids)
- aerosol cans
- propane tanks
- motor oil
- transmission oil/lubricating/hydraulic oil/ oil filters
- petroleum contaminated soil/lead paint chips
- fluorescent tubes
- railroad ties
- medical waste
- creosote or weathered wood
- all liquids
If non-acceptable items are found in customer’s load, the customer is responsible for the removal of the item. A charge for non-regulated material will apply to that not in compliance with C & D regulations, if not removed.
Containers with dirt, sand, concrete, rocks, and bricks may not be filled more than 1/3 full due to LA DOTD weight regulations on Louisiana highways (Only 12-15 cubic yards per load).
SSW asks all customers to not overfill the bins past the top on the containers because the tarp systems are not able to contain the trash. Help SSW keep beautiful Louisiana clean!
Thank you for the complying with the above regulations. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at (337) 433-5158.
